L. Robert “Bob” Carter of Pittsboro

L. Robert “Bob” Carter of Pittsboro died Dec. 5. He was 73.

Born Dec. 9, 1939, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Maxine Carter. He married Martha “Marty” Carter and she survives.

Carter graduated from Pittsboro High School and Rose Hulman Institute of Technology as a civil engineer. He worked at the Indiana State Board of Health for 21 years. He owned and operated Vintage Homes, designing and building custom homes in Hendricks County.

Most recently, Mr. Carter worked as a lead quality systems auditor for Entela and TUV Rheiland.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Robert Carter, Lawrence Carter, and Daniel Carter; siblings, Sandra (Mark) Jones and Richard (Gayle) Carter; and grandchildren, Sara, Samuel, Michael, Owen, and Cora.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 10 at Pittsboro Christian Church. Burial will follow in the K of P Cemetery in Lizton.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 9 at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pittsboro Christian Church, Gleaners Food Bank, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
