Andrew J. Eberwein of Bainbridge died April 26 in Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 87.
Born April 8, in Jennings County, he was the son of the late Samuel D. and Mary Katheryn Price Eberwein. He married Evelyn Elizabeth Tharp on April 24, 1948, in Indianapolis. This year they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Eberwein graduated from Lebanon High School and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army having served in the Air Corps in Italy.
He was a tanker truck driver for the Refiners Transport Company. He worked for 34 and a half years then purchased a family farm.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Kathy Lyn Morrical of North Salem; siblings, Jesse (Beverly) Eberwein of Florida, Elsie Bevington of Lebanon, Leonard (Bonnie) Eberwein of Plainfield; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Alan Eberwein; and brother-in-law, Mervin Bevington.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. April 30 in Porter Funeral Home in North Salem, 6 S. California St., with the Rev. Ann Spahr officiating. Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery where military rites will be presented.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. April 29 in the funeral home.
