Betty A. Lydick of Plainfield died March 6. She was 88.
Born Jan. 20, 1926, in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary (Frank) Archer. She married Lee E. Lydick and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Lydick taught physical education and home economics within the Mill Creek Community School Corporation for 31 years, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association and Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She was the last surviving charger member of Hope United Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Michael E. (Debbie) Lydick; a daughter, Dr. Paula A. (Dr. Larry) Koval; a half-sister, Juanita Puster; four grandchildren, Jenny and Jamie Lydick, Julie (Jon) Davis, and Emily Koval; and a great grandson, Owen Davis.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. March 15 in Hope United Presbyterian Church, 1331 Section Street in Plainfield. Entombment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service in the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of the church.
