— Charles R. Porter of Plainfield died May 10. He was 89.
Born Oct. 25, 1923, in Parke County, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Effie (Bain) Porter. He married Doris (Philabaum) Porter and she preceded him in death.
Mr. Porter graduated from Union Township High School in Bellmore. He worked at Allison Transmission, Plant # 3, in Speedway and was a member of the Plainfield Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his son, Robert W. (Sandi) Porter of Coatesville; daughter, Deb Pryor of Owensboro, Ky.; three grandchildren, Tricia (Josh) Abdon, Tim (Judy) Porter, and Aaron Pryor; and eight great-grandchildren, Nick, Jayden, and Nolan Remsburg, Olivia, Jarred and Robert Porter, Sara Roberts, and Chase Abdon.
Also preceding him in death were a granddaughter, Tamara Remsburg, a great-grandson, Taylor Roberts, five brothers, and a sister.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. May 15 at the Portland Mills Cemetery, Parke County, with Pastor Perry Mager officiating.
