— Lorena M. Rutledge of Danville died Nov. 18. She was 94.

Born Nov. 14, 1919, in Damascus, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late A. Lindey and Louisa M. (Hampton) Pemberton. After her mother’s death, her father married Mary (Warrington) Pemberton.

She married Marvin Rutledge on April 21, 1943, and he died Jan. 16, 2010.

Mrs. Rutledge was a birthright Quaker. She was a graduate of the Friends Boarding School in Barnesville, Ohio.

She was a homemaker and a former assistant for Dr. Thomas of Plainfield. She was an active member of the Danville Friends Church, past president of Hendricks County Extension Homemakers, a member of the Mill Creek Homemakers Club, and a former assistant Girl Scout troop leader.

Survivors include daughters Marilyn (Henry) Barber of Marietta, Ga., Nancy (Tom) Willis of Zionsville, and Janet (Jeff) Cunningham of Danville; a sister, Elma Dixon of Salem, Ohio; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were brothers Lawrence and Clarence Pemberton and sisters Margarete Wiseman, Dorothy Lilly, and Bertha Eagleton.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Danville Friends Church. Interment will follow at the cemetery in Lizton.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
