Lamb

Robert Lee Lamb of Coatesville died Monday at the age of 87.

Born July 4, 1926, in Tuscola, Ill., he was the son of James Reuben and Leone (Frazier) Lamb. He was a graduate of Tuscola High School and attended the DeVry Institute. He married Marlene (Shields) Lamb and she survives.

Mr. Lamb was a superintendent at the IUPUI Physical Plant, retiring in July of 1989. 

He had previously owned and operated Tuscola Sheet Metal and Plumbing with his brother in Tuscola. After retirement he had worked with Burns Security and had been a real estate salesman.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Tuscola and the New Life Baptist Church, Greencastle.

Also surviving are children, Robert J. (Kasey) Lamb of Avon, Jonathan R. “ Randy” (Lori) Lamb of Coatesville, Melissa J. (Donnie) Spencer of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and James Richard Ryan Lamb of Coatesville; nine grandchildren, Jacob and Noah Lamb, Ashlie, Tyler, Joshua, and Brandon Lamb, A.J. and Gabby Spencer, and LiliAnn Lamb; and two nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brothers Ernest Lamb of Decatur, Ill., and James Richard Lamb of Tuscola, Ill.; and a niece, Sandy Burrous.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 25 at the New Life Baptist Church, 51 Ridgeway St. Greencastle, with Rev. Dr. Michael Wren and Rev. Hallie Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Brownsburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the church.
