James W. Proctor of Plainfield died Oct. 18. He was 93.

Born March 27, 1920, in Brazil, he was a son of the late James Sr. and Ethel Proctor. He married Virginia Proctor and she proceeded him in death.

Mr. Proctor was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran. He served during World War II. He worked for Detroit Diesel Allison’s in data processing until he retired in 1980 after 30 years of service.

He was a member of  Plainfield United Methodist Church, Plainfield Lions Club, Plainfield Masonic Lodge No. 653, and Indianapolis Scottish Rite.

Survivors include daughters Nancy (Greg) Grimes, Sally (Larry) Snyder, Sherry (Ted) Thompson and Lynn (Mike) Eklof; grandchildren Lisa Sankowski, Richard Grimes, Diana Shinde, Jenny Jordan, Whitney, Megan Eklof and Katie Thompson; and great-grandchildren Laurel, Aiden, Landon, Adele Sankowski, David, Daniel, Hannah Jordan and Abira, Shahina Shinde.

Preceding him in death was a brother, Norman Proctor, and a sister, Ethel Robinson.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Plainfield United Methodist Church or the Salvation Army.
