Michael D. Schnarr of Jasper died Sunday in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper. He was 62.

Born May 21, 1951, in Huntingburg, he was the son of LeRoy and Iona (Neukam) Schnarr. He married Joann M. Kieffner on Aug. 5, 1973, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Haysville. She survives.

Mr. Schnarr was a Boone Township farmer and bus driver for the Greater Jasper School Corporation for 20 years. He had worked for Jasper Engines and Transmissions, traveling with their NSACAR team. He also served as caretaker for St. John's Church for many years.

His memberships included St. John's Lutheran Church in Boone Township.

Also surviving are two sons, Douglas Schnarr and wife Kiley of Clayton and Dr. Chad Schnarr and wife Janet of Hillsboro, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Logan, Brooke, Chase, and Jessica; and his parents, LeRoy and Iona Schnarr of Jasper.

Services are 11 a.m. Aug. 29 in St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothy Kraemer officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Aug. 28 in Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
