Imogene 'Gene' Bonnewell Stall of Danville

Imogene "Gene" Bonnewell Stall of Danville died Sunday. She was 90.

Born Aug. 6, 1923, she was the daughter of John A. and Delta (Williams) Bonnewell. She married C.W. Stall in 1961 and he preceded her in death in 2002.

Mrs. Stall was a 1940 graduate of Patricksburg High School and a 1944 graduate of the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She worked in a doctor's office in Georgia, was a school nurse in Mooresville, and performed private nursing at Methodist as well as serve as a stint assistant head nurse on the hospital's neurosurgical floor. She also did private duty and worked in surgery at Danville Regional Hospital. At the time of her death, Mrs. Stall was retired and living on a farm near Danville.

Survivors include her children, Marjorie Laflin of Pittsboro, Dana (Norman) Blum of Marion, Mark (Jeanette) Stall of Fishers, and Ronald (Karima) Stall of Danville; a cousin, Elizabeth Ann Smith of Greencastle, whom she was extremely close to; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Five half-brothers and one half-sister also preceded her in death.

Services are 1 p.m. Aug. 21 at Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home in Danville, with visitation there 11 a.m. until service time.

Memorials may be made to Danville Christian Church.
