Marian L. Stockton of Plainfield died Wednesday in Manor Care at Prestwick. She was 96.

Born April 21, 1917, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Juanita Smith. She married Lee Roy Stockton and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Stockton was a graduate of Central Normal College in Danville. She was a homemaker and taught high school English and physical education. Her memberships included Plainfield Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Edward L. (Jodi) Stockton; a daughter, Julie S. (John) Hurst; grandchildren, Ryan and Lance Stockton and Leigh Ann and Katie Hurst; and six great-grandchildren. 

Services are 11 a.m. Nov. 20 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call 4-7 p.m. Nov. 19. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
