Mildred Evans of Plainfield died Tuesday at the age of 89.
She was born Aug. 24, 1924, in Allen County, Ky., to the late, Edward S. and Delanie E. (Jent) Fishburn. She married Jack L. Evans and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Evans was a stock handler for RCA for 21 years, retiring in February 1987. She also was the co-owner of Jack's Standard Service that was on the corner of Belmont and Morris streets in Indianapolis.
Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Lynn Evans; sister, Mary Blanche Long; and several nieces, nephews, close family, and friends including, Randy Fast and family, Glenn Randolph and family, and Amanda Randolph and family.
Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Earline Stinson, Clara Cook, and Novice Dempsey; and her brothers, Paul and Noel Fishburn.
Services are 1 p.m. Oct. 26 in Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur with visitation there 4-8 p.m. Oct. 25 and 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be at West Newton Cemetery next to her husband.
