— William A. "Bill" Armand died Thursday at his Plainfield home. He was 90.
Born Sept. 13, 1922, in Deputy, he was a son of the late William and Naomi Mc Neeley Armand. He married Ruth Williams on Dec. 31, 1949, and she survives.
Mr. Armand was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded a Bronze Star. He received a degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and worked 47 years as a civil engineer for Hugh J. Baker Company, before retiring in 1988 as the head estimator.
He was a member of the Plainfield Optimist Club for several years holding various offices and was a member of Center Community Church.
Additional survivors include a son, William Allen Armand; a daughter, Landra K. Hallock and husband Ron; granddaughters Cori Michelle Walters and Veronica Hallock; and sisters Wanda Jean Hinrichs and Delores Kay Brooks.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Center Community Church. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield.
