Ruth Hood of Danville died March 3. She was 95.
Born Sept. 17, 1918, in Ocala, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Chester A. and Mary Alice Goff Harris. She married Carlos Hood on Aug. 9, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Mrs. Hood was a homemaker and a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church in Kentucky and Harmony Baptist Church in Avon.
Survivors include her son, Carlos L. (Mary Kay) Hood of Danville; sister, Sally Ann Paul of South Carolina; grandchildren, Cindy Hood of Federal Way, Wash., Lisa Malicoat of Danville, Debbie Spurlock of Pittsboro; great grandchildren, Alyssa Hitch, Justin Malicoat, Morgan Spurlock, Hailey Spurlock, Jase Spurlock; and a great great grandson, Mason Hitch.
Services will be at 11 a.m. March 7 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville. Burial will be in Danville South Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. March 6 in the funeral home
