Donald E. Maxwell of Avon died Feb. 27. He was 77.
He was the son of the late Virgil and Bessie Maxwell. He married Kaye Maxwell and she survives. They were married for 54 years.
Mr. Maxwell was a lifelong resident of the west side of Indianapolis. He retired from Detroit Diesel Allison in 1992. He founded and operated Don’s Washer and Dryer Service for several years in the 1970s.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to ’58.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Don (Fritz) of Bloomington, Terry of Indianapolis, Pat of Avon; brother, Bud of Fort Myers, Fla.; nieces; nephews; other family; and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bob and Jack; and sister, Mildred.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. March 4 in Conkle Funeral Home Avon Chapel.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. March 3 in the funeral home.
