Sara M. Payne Pflumm

Sara M. Payne Pflumm of Greenwood died Tuesday. She was 92.

Born Sept. 13, 1920, in Henry County, she was a daughter of Floyd A. and Clara (Carter) Wood. She married Paul Pflumm, who survives.

Mr. Pflumm graduated from Danville High School in 1939. She worked 34 years as a secretary at Eli Lilly Corp. in Indianapolis before retiring in 1982.

Additional survivors include a son, Donald (Karen) Payne of Brownsburg; stepchildren Pam (Pete) Chermansky of Greenfield, Peggy Loschky of Jacksonville, Ark., Paul J. Pflumm of Fairfield, Calif., and David M. (Cindy) Pflumm of Burlington, N.C.; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, 10 step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were three brothers and a sister.

Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home in Danville. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Cartersburg.

Calling at the funeral home is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
