Ronald “Ronnie” Eugene Burton of Brownsburg and formerly of Cairo, Ill, died March 9. He was 62.

Born Dec. 1, 1051, he was the son of Elza and Margie (Johnson) Burton.

Mr. Burton was a train conductor who worked for Baltimore & Ohio Railroad for 15 years. He served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.

He was an avid reader, diehard Dolphins fan, and all-around sportsman. He also loved horseracing, NASCAR, and playing Rook.

Survivors include his son, Richard Elza Burton; daughter-in-law, Kristine S. Costello-Burton; daughter, Ronda Dennie Burton-Rice; son-in-law, Steven M. Rice; brother, Herman Jean Burton; former spouse, Kathy Jane Morgan-Burton; and grandchildren, Nicolette Diane Browning, Alec Eugene Burton, Serenity Jane Burton, and Brandon Lee Rice.

There will be no services per the decedent’s request.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary.
