E. Howard Conley of Danville died Jan. 4. He was 93.
Born Feb. 2, 1920, in Minora, W. Va., he was the son of the late Joseph and Myrtle (Ellis) Conley. He married Bettie Jane (Reid) Conley July 17, 1943, in Chicago. She preceded him in death Aug. 2, 1995.
Mr. Conley was a farmer and member of the Danville Christian Church where he served as officer emeritus and former deacon, elder, and chairman of the administrative board. He served as president of the Danville Community School Board of School Trustees and served on the Hendricks County Soil and Water Conservation Board, as well as, the Hendricks County Board of Zoning Appeals. He also served on the Hendricks County Plan Commission.
Mr. Conley was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II. He served with the 397th Armored Field Artillery Battalion in Europe. He was a member of Danville American Legion Post 118.
Survivors include his sons, James Howard (Janice) Conley and Robert S. (Diane) Conley, all of Danville; three grandchildren, Shannon Harris, Jason and Travis Conley; five great grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 10 in Danville Christian Church. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown, Ind.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 9 in the church.
