Chester L. Beaty of Clayton died Dec. 27. He was 81.
Born July 20, 1932, in Birdstown, Tenn., he was the son of the late Jahue and Margie (Ford) Beaty. He married Sue Lee Honeycutt in December 1955. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Beaty moved to Indiana in 1962. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He then joined the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Independence.
After moving to Indiana, Mr. Beaty was employed by RCA as a maintenance mechanic working there for 27 years and retiring in 1991. He was an avid outdoorsman and love to fish and work in his garden.
Survivors include his son, Kelvin (Glenda) Beaty of Brownsburg; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lee of Birdstown, Tenn.; and four brothers, Brank and Cooper Beaty of Birdstown, Dale Beaty of Albany, and Ed Beaty of Louisville, Ky.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Alan in 2011.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 30 in Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home in Clayton. Burial will follow in the Clayton Cemetery in Clayton.
Visitation will start at 11 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
