Herschel C. Crouse of Danville died Dec. 17. He was 84.
Born July 6, 1929, in Cory, he was the son of the late Cornelius and Mildred (Orman) Crouse.
Mr. Crouse was a U.S. Army veteran. In the early 1960s he owned and operated a Sinclair Station in Avon. Later, he worked as a diesel mechanic for Trans-Con Freight Lines for 20 years until 1994. He was a member of Teamsters Local 135.
He is survived by three sons, Mark (Rita-Lyle), Allen (Carol) and Michael Crouse; three daughters, Patty (Seth) Sharp, Sandra (Michael) Smith, and Lisa (Jim) Morrow; a step-daughter, Cindy (Joe) Schober; 12 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 27 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield. A committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 28 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. until time of the service in the funeral Home.
