Warren Calvin McDonald of Brownsburg died Dec. 17. He was 93.
Born Oc. 15, 1920, near St. Joseph, Mo., he was the son of the late George Mitchell Miller and Nellie Lee “Round” McDonald. He married Eva Colleen Burton on March 21, 1941. She preceded him in death Feb. 10, 1988.
Mr. McDonald graduated from St. Joseph High School. He served in the military during World War II. He retired from Allison division GM in 1984 after 31 years of employment.
He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Fayette, American Legion Post 331 in Brownsburg, and Hendricks County Senior Center. He volunteered at Club Roland Manor and for Special Olympics until 2004. He also read for special needs children as a mentor for Brownsburg Elementary School.
Survivors include sons, Warren Calvin Jr., Jearald Dwain, Carl Thomas, Raymond O’Neal, and Michael Lee McDonald; daughters, Eva Colleen Duvall and Kathryn Diane Butterfield; 23 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Dec. 21 at David A. Hall Mortuary, 220 N. Maple Street in Pittsboro.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at the mortuary.
