Mary (Nicholson) Tucker of Danville died Sunday. She was 95.
Born Dec. 15, 1917, in Salem, Ind., she was the daughter of Alva E. and Bertha M. (Bowers) Nicholson. She married H. Paul Tucker on Dec. 24, 1941, in Salem. He died Feb. 11, 1996.
Mrs. Tucker attended Olivet College, Eastern Illinois State, and earned her degree in education from Central Normal College in Danville. She taught elementary education for 22 years in Illinois, Avon, and Coatesville before retiring in 1976. Her memberships included the Hendricks County Teachers Association and the Up-To-Date Club in Danville.
Survivors include a son, Paul Joseph "Joe" Tucker of Mooresville; a daughter-in-law, Ann Tucker of Hernando, Miss.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A son, Thomas N. Tucker, and a sister, Lela Coffer, also preceded her in death.
Services are 11 a.m. Aug. 15 at Westside Church of the Nazarene, 8610 W. 10th St., Indianapolis. Graveside services are 3 p.m. Aug. 15 in Crown Hill Cemetery, Salem. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Aug. 14 at Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home in Danville.
