Mary JoAn Ruechel Burnett of Brownsburg died today. She was 86.
A graduate of Ben Davis High School, she was a housekeeper and longtime member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Burnett was a history buff, collected antiques and enjoyed growing flowers. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making quilts.
Survivors include her children, Deborah (Ron) Tingen, William Burnett, and Jennifer (Don) Waggoner; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 63 years, Richard Burnett; a daughter, Rebecca J. Hamilton; her parents, Ferdinand and Mary Ruechel; sisters Dorothy, Helen, and Ruth Ruechel; and a daughter-in-law, Sally A. Burnett.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church. Entombment will be at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
Calling is for an hour prior to the service at the the church.
