James William Bridges of Avon died Friday at the age of 72.
Born May 14, 1942, in New York, N.Y., he was a son of the late William L. Bridges Jr. and Marian (Beckers) Bridges.
Mr. Bridges graduated from North Central High School in 1960 and attended Purdue University to study engineering. He worked 36 years as a project coordinator for Beam, Longest & Neff, LLC in Indianapolis before retiring in 2004. He also worked for many years as a land surveyor.
Outside of work, he enjoyed building military dioramas and World War II scale models. He was an avid gardener, stamp collector and spent time traveling to Brown County and other parts of the country.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Vicki (Nay) Bridges; daughters Kimberly (Joseph) Gray and Jennifer (John) Sinnett; a son, Brian Carr; grandchildren Benjamin, Mitchell and Olivia; and a sister, Jane (Dick) Sowers.
Cremation services were entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway.
