Paul L. Hand of Plainfield died Wednesday. He was 89.

Born Nov. 6, 1923, in Indianapolis, he was a son of the late Robert and Dorothy Hand.

He was the former owner of Hand’s Standard Service from 1953 to ‘85. He also owned Car Care from 1985 to ‘93 and PH Landfill from 1993 to 2007.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Hand; a daughter, Dottie (Jim) Hobbs; a son, Mark Hand; a sister, Mae Winsted; grandchildren Rachel (Brian) Nysewander-Pace, Rebecca (Scot) Nysewander-McFarland, Josh (Megan) Hand, Matt Hand, and Evan Hobbs; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. June 19 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. June 18.
