Frank William Weiss of Plainfield died Jan. 31. He was 69.
Born July 25, 1944, in Cardston Alberta, Canada, he was the son of William and Mary Aldridge Weiss. He married Marilyn Neilson on July 8, 1963, in Idaho. She survives. The couple has been married for 50 years.
Mr. Weiss was founder and president of Frank Weiss Racing Components in Indianapolis which was in business for 33 years. He drove at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and participated in USAC, CART, and Indy Car Series. He won a championship in the Canadian-American Modified Racing Association.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Wade W. (Tina) Weiss of Plainfield; daughter, Shawna (Christopher) Graves of Fishers; brothers, Stan and Gary Weiss; sisters, Irene Fox and Jo-Anne Schindler; and grandchildren, Alec, Samantha, Darin, Cameron, Adam, and Rachel.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 5 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2125 Reeves Road in Plainfield. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 4 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.
