Richard Lee Alexander of Brownsburg died May 6. He was 87.
Born in 1927 in Conway Springs, Kan., he was the son of the late J. B. and Lena Alexander. He married Mary Louise Fuller Alexander and she preceded him in death.
Mr. Alexander graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in chemical engineering. He was employed for 33 years by Spencer Chemical, Gulf Oil, and Chevron Chemical Companies. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Midway during World War II.
Survivors include his children, Janet Meegan of Brownsburg, David Alexander of Greensburg, Mary Susan Miller of Plano, Texas, Ben Alexander of Tyler, Texas, Stephen Alexander of Tiki Island, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death was his brother, Calvin Alexander; and granddaughter, Jennifer Elise Alexander.
