David Charles Pierce of Avon died Sunday. He was 62.

Born Aug. 24, 1950, in Kokomo, he was a son of Charles Edward and Dolly Mae Pierce.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and worked in the maintenance department of the Walmart in Brownsburg.

Survivors include his wife, Denise G. (Pollander) Pierce; children Renee C. (Andrew) Doolin, Janelle N. Pierce, Jennifer D. Pierce and John-Phillip Charles Pierce; his mother, Dolly Mae Pierce; a future son-in-law, Michael Shull; a brother, John Edward (Alma) Pierce; grandchildren Alexander, Brennan and Hannah Doolin; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon.

Calling is for two hours prior to the service.
