Carroll R. Rance of Plainfield died June 19. He was 81.
Born Dec. 5, 1932, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Robert and Lillian (Strong) Rance. He married June (McNelly) Rance and she survives.
Mr. Rance was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Mooresville American Legion. He was a member of the Plainfield Bible Church.
He worked for Allisons GM as a repairman and inspector for 37 years retiring in 1988.
Additional survivors include three sons, Robert R. (Sherrie), Gary W. (Paula), and Scott A. (Kimberly) Rance; a daughter, Teresa K. Rikeman; a sister, Janice K. (Phil) Routh; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at noon June 24 in Plainfield Bible Church, 752 Dan Jones Road in Plainfield. A private burial with military honors will be held at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 23 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield and at 10 a.m. until time of service in the church on Tuesday.
