Patricia Nye Miller of Waveland and recently of Amo died June 10. She was 72.

Born March 30, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Ruth Bowers Nye. She married Ted Miller. He preceded her in death in 2008.

After graduating in 1960 from Amo High School, she attended Indiana State University, earning her bachelors of secondary education in 1964. She immediately went on to earn her masters of English at ISU, and later, her masters of guidance counseling from IUPUI in 1992.

She worked as a case worker at Area IV in Crawfordsville until 2002.

She was a member of Crawfordsville’s First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, was the children’s choir director, and past president of United Methodist Women. She enjoyed working with Vanity Theatre in Crawfordsville, where she had designed costumes and acted in numerous productions since 1992.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Adam and Heather Miller of Plainfield, Rachel and Zack Cartee of Greenwood; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Nye and Mubarak Awad of Gaithersburg; grandsons, Daniel and Lucas Cartee; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by sister, Joyce White.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. June 17 in Crawfordsville First United Methodist Church, 212 E. Wabash Ave. in Crawfordsville.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of service in the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crawfordsville District Public Library at 205 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
