Delbert “John” Taylor of Plainfield died Sunday in Select Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 68.
Born Jan. 17, 1945, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Charles and Florence King Taylor. He married Mary Lew Teegarden Stoner on Nov. 27, 1976, and she survives.
Mr. Taylor was a retired truck driver. His memberships included Plainfield United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are children Kendra Carroll and Joanna Combs; a sister, June Byrnes; granddaughter Kelise Taylor whom John and Mary Lew raised; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are 1 p.m. Feb. 13 in Plainfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ted Blosser officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis. Calling is for two hours prior to services in the church. Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is in charge of arrangements.
