Janet M. Shelley

Janet M. Shelley of Avon died Sunday. She was 78.

Born Dec. 25, 1934, in Danville, she was a daughter of Cleo and Mary Riggan Selch. She married Norman Shelley II on Dec. 18, 1954, and he died in 2007.

Ms. Shelley worked many years as the chief deputy treasurer for the Hendricks County Treasurer’s Office.

She was a member of the Republican Women’s Party and Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church in Avon. 

Survivors include sons Patrick (Shawn) Shelley of Danville and Mike (Cheri) Shelley of Avon; a brother, John Selch of Avon; and grandchildren Nick and Sarah Shelley.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Baker Funeral Home in Danville. Interment will follow at Danville South Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
