Herman Ragsdale died Wednesday at the age of 91.
Born Sept. 13, 1921, in Pittsboro, he was a son of the late Lora Ray and Nellie Mable (Randle) Ragsdale. He married Florence Lillian Broyles in Avon on Nov. 30, 1945, and she survives.
Mr. Ragsdale graduated from Pittsboro High School in 1939. He was a grain farmer and raised cattle in Hendricks and Boone counties until his retirement in 1988. He continued to garden and enjoyed watching the crops grow.
He was a member of Pittsboro Christian Church.
Additional survivors include daughters Linda Cowley and husband Tom, and Jane E. Smith and husband Tommy; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Hobart Ragsdale.
Services are 3 p.m. Sunday at the David A. Hall Mortuary, 220 N. Maple St., Pittsboro. Interment will be at the K of P Cemetery in Lizton.
Calling is for three hours prior to the service.
