John R. Farese

John R. Farese died Wednesday at his Mooresville home. He was 73.

Born June 2, 1940, in Lynn, Mass., he was a son of the late Albert and Mary (LaPointe) Farese.

Mr. Farese was a graduate of Lynn (Massachusetts) English High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked most recently as a security guard at Covance.

He enjoyed writing and was known for his poetry.

Survivors include sons John Farese Jr. of Louisville, Ky., and Jerry Farese of Pompano Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Debbie Hufferd of Plainfield; siblings Sandra Farese of Lynn, Mass., Janice Bourque and husband Roland of Conway, S.C., and Jane Reagan-Crook of Conway; grandchildren Lindsay, Erika, and Jarrett Hufferd, and Jim and Saige Farese; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and canine companions Oscar and Max.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 38 years, Sharon (Hembree) Farese; siblings Anthony Farese, Dolores Ausiello, Elizabeth Richard, Albert Farese, and Gerald Farese; a stepson, Tim Rice; and a grandson, Aaron Hufferd.

Services are 6 p.m. Monday at Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. Cremation will follow at the Morgan County Crematory and private inurnment will be at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.

Calling is for three hours prior to the service.
