Mildred L. (Adams) Finchum of Plainfield died April 11. She was 85 and had formerly resided in Indianapolis.
Born July 8, 1927, in Massillon, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Archibald Matthew and Opal Viola (Anderson) Adams.
She worked as an LPN for Dr. Fred R. Brooks' office at 34th Street and Lafayette Road in Indianapolis until retiring in 1987.
Mrs. Finchum was a former member of the 7th and 8th Christian Church and a current member of Center Community Church in Plainfield. She enjoyed singing in the choir and as a soloist, and performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. She also enjoyed the entertainment and singing at her residence at Meadow Lakes Nursing Home in Mooresville, for and with the other residents.
She enjoyed her pets, Abby and Ms. Kit.
Survivors include sons Roger D. (Barbara) Finchum and Ronald D. (Mary) Finchum; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Vernie E. "Red" Finchum, who died in February.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Flanner and Buchanan Mortuary in Speedway. Interment will be at West Newton Cemetery.
