Randy Johnson “R.J.” Reynolds of Coatesville died Friday. He was 59.
Mr. Reynolds was married to his high school sweetheart, Suzie Hutchison Reynolds, for 39 years. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1971 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in ‘82. He had advanced studies in 2001 at the Wharton School of Business.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and worked nine years as a sales and marketing manager for Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus. He retired from Toyota Motor Manufacturing after 25 years as vice president of administration in Princeton. He went on to serve as president and CEO of Radius Indiana.
Mr. Reynolds served on numerous state and community boards including being an executive member of the Japan American Society and the Evansville Chamber of Commerce; serving on the board of directors of Vincennes University, having been appointed by Gov. Mitch Daniels; and most recently on the executive committee of the I-69 Innovation Corridor.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne (Hutchison) Reynolds; sons Jon (fiancée Kimberly) Reynolds and Jeff (Danyelle) Reynolds; his father, William Reynolds; a brother, Bill (Bonita) Reynolds; sisters Janie (Russell) Webb and Becky Allen; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Patricia Reynolds.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kingsway Christian Church in Avon.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon and for an hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
