Randy E. Fields died Dec. 3 at his home, following a battle with cancer. He was 55.
Born May 16, 1957, in Chicago, he was a son of Helen Nuckels and the late Frank Fields. He married his childhood neighbor and the love of his life, Mary Wheeler on Sept. 13, 1983, and she survives.
Mr. Fields grew up in Avon and graduated from Avon High School in 1975. He worked side by side with his brother, Donny Matthews, at Rays Trash Service for 43 years and was most recently the head supervisor.
He was a member of Mary Queen of Peace in Danville. He enjoyed watching sports, especially Notre Dame football, IU basketball, and the Colts.
Additional survivors include children Brooke King Moore (Robert Arnold), Brittany Fields, Jake Fields (Brittany R. Fields), and Luke Fields (Kaitlyn Davis); grandchildren Mason, Micah, Delaney, Kenzie, and Gibson; a brother, Gary Fields (Cea Fields); sisters Cindy Hughes and Anita Waldrup (Larry Waldrup); his mother, Helen Nuckels; numerous nieces and nephews; his in-laws; and his friends and “family” from Rays Trash Service.
A celebration of life service is from noon to 8 p.m. Dec. 8 at Conkle Funeral Home, 76 N. S.R. 267, Avon, IN 46123.
