John Edward (Ed) Eisert II

John Edward (Ed) Eisert II of Plainfield died June 21. He was 69.

Born Dec. 24, 1943, in Connersville, he was a son of the late John and Sallie Eisert.

Mr. Eisert was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He received his associate degree from Indiana University, Kokomo extension. He retired from Stoops Buick in 2009 as a sales manager. He previously held the same position with National Car Sales.

Mr. Eisert was a member of the 1961 Kokomo High School state championship basketball team. He was also a star football, golf and baseball player.

He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Eisert; a son, John Edward “Eddie” Gerlack; daughters Beth Wetecamp and Amy Marheim; a step-son, John David Muench; a step-daughter, Tami Ratliff and husband Rodney; sisters Ruth Routzahn, Sharon Selm, Loretta Jennings, and Sylvia Holland; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was a brother, Dr. Ralph Bruce Craft.

Services are 5 p.m. Thursday at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home.

Calling is for two hours prior to the service.
