Joyce Nye Behymer White

Joyce Nye Behymer White of Amo died April 5 at her residence. She was 65.

Born Oct. 13, 1947, in Shelby, Ohio, she was the daughter of Bill and Ruth Nye. She married Glenn Behymer and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. White graduated from Cascade High School in 1965 and earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing, with honors, in 1969 from Indiana State University. After living in

San Antonio, Cordova, Alaska, and Edmonds, Wash., Mrs. White returned to Indiana where she continued to practice nursing. In 2012, she retired from Kroger’s in Plainfield.

Her memberships included Amo Baptist Church. 

Survivors include her mother; two sisters, Patricia Miller and Nancy Nye; a brother-in-law; nephews and nieces; great-nephews; and a great-niece.

Her father and an infant son, Russell Glenn Behymer, also preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. April 27 at Amo Baptist Church, with calling there for one hour prior to services.
