Allen Kent “Buzz” Graves of Danville died Feb. 1 at home. He was 73.

Brown April 9, 1940, in Bedford, he was the son of the late Herman and Juanita Brown Graves. He married Myra Faye Butler in 1960. She survives.

Mr. Graves graduated from Shawswick High School, Lawrence County, in 1959. He retired from the Indiana State Police in 1985.

He loved restoring antiques, building furniture, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 653 in Plainfield, American Legion in Danville, and Fraternal Order of Police.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Deanna K. (Doug) Westhead, Christy A. (Wade) Chalfant of Danville; grandchildren, Justin E. Westhead, Austin M. (Kayla) Chalfant, Whitney K. Westhead; great grandson, Gannon Michael Chalfant; brothers, Jim (Barbara) Graves of Bedford, Neil (Sue) Graves of Goshen; sister-in-law, Sue Graves; brother-in-law, Joe Reed; and several nieces and nephews.

All services are private. The Rev. A.J. Cox and Rex Parker of Cloverdale Church of Christ will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a family member, friend, or neighbor in need.

Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield has been entrusted with arrangements.
