Arthur R. Welling Jr. died Tuesday at his home. He was 60.
A native of New Haven, he was a son of the late Arthur R. and Genevieve Disser Welling.
Mr. Welling graduated from Bishop Luers High School, Xavier University, and the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. He had his own firm in Danville for many years and served briefly as a deputy Hendricks County prosecutor before retiring to Fort Wayne in poor health.
Mr. Welling was a life-long auto enthusiast and enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed cooking, which he learned working in his father's Pancake House Restaurant while going to school.
Survivors include siblings Marian Welling, Edward (Cindy), Robert (Gail), and Gen Welling of Fort Wayne, Beth (Preston) Proctor of Muncie, and Kate (Don) Boyle of Mattituck, N.Y.; nieces and nephews Brian and Tom Boyle, Sara and Daniel Proctor, Jon and Laura Welling, and Michael and Kathleen Welling; and his dog, Biscuit.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Aug. 16 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave., with calling one hour prior. Father Daniel Whelan will officiate. Calling is also from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at Klaehn Fahl, Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne.
