William D. Wynkoop of Crawfordsville

William D. Wynkoop of Crawfordsville died Wednesday at Whitlock House. He was 93.

Born April 18, 1920, in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Russell C and Goldie A Wynkoop. He married Margaret A. Martin Nicholas on March 23, 1969. She preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 1991.

Mr. Wynkoop was a member of the American Legion, the Elks, the Moose, the Masons, the Shrine, the VFW, and the Scottish Rite. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was part of the D-Day invasion.

Survivors include a stepson, James M. Nicholas; a stepdaughter, Judith K. Cottrell; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A grandchild also preceded him in death.

Services are 3 p.m. Sept. 7 at Porter Funeral Home, North Salem. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
