Myrtle M. Mangus of Martinsville died Wednesday at the age of 67.
Born Sept. 8, 1945, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of the late Hilton Harlan Hoopengarner and Lucille Calhoon. She married Robert Mangus on Sept. 1, 1989, and he survives.
Mrs. Mangus retired from Indiana Bell in 1993 as a trouble desk dispatcher, where she had worked for 30 years. Having lived most of her life in the Mooresville and Martinsville areas, she enjoyed going to yard sales, sewing, crocheting, and cross-stitching.
Also surviving are a daughter, Suzanne (Tyler) Tebbe of Indianapolis; a grandson, Tyler Devan of Indianapolis; stepsons Robert Mangus Jr. of Martinsville and Doug Mangus of South Carolina; several step-grandchildren; sisters Maryellen Morrison of Indianapolis, Juanita Kay Sevier of Indianapolis, and Ruby Jean Hoopengarner of Florida; and brothers Harold Hoopengarner of Eminence and Harlan "JT" Hoopengarner Jr. of Martinsville.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Michael McBride; a daughter, Theresa McBride; a previous spouse, Joseph Jones; and another previous spouse and father to Suzanne, Robert Lee McBride.
Services are 11 a.m. Sept. 4 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, with Tom Tackett officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 3 at the mortuary.
