Glendon Otis Griffith of Lebanon died Friday in Homewood Health Care. He was 81.
Born May 13, 1931, in Lizton, he was the son of the late Otis Russell and Mona (Harlan) Griffith. He married Carol (Straesser) Allison on July 25, 1981, in Lebanon. She survives.
Mr. Griffith graduated from Lizton High School in 1949. He worked as an assistant land surveyor at Anderson & Associates in Lebanon for 46 years, retiring in 2009.
Also surviving are a sister, Edna (Griffith) Keeney; daughters Mona Gay (Harvey) Stanbrough, Leisa Renee (Tom) Conway, and Dorothy “Dori” Marie Griffith; a stepson, Rob (Lyn) Allison; a stepdaughter, Julie (Jim Zubak) Allison Young; grandchildren Jason Griffith (Brandy) Smith, Roy Douglas Stanbrough, Michael Brian Conway, and Samantha Jean Conway; stepgrandchildren Matt Young, Anthony Allison, Jacob Allison, four other stepgrandsons, and two stepgranddaughters; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; 10 nieces; and nine nephews.
Also preceding him in death were the mother of his daughters, Rhetas Hicks Griffith, and one nephew.
Services are 10 a.m. Nov. 1 in Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., where friends may call 2-8 p.m. Oct. 31. Burial will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Lizton.
