— Audrey Lois Scotten of Clayton died early Saturday morning at the Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer. She was 98.
Born Oct. 29, 1914, in Crawford County, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Clora (Suthers) Brubeck. She married Eugene "Red" Scotten and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Scotten was the owner/operator of the Handy Corner Grocery Store in Stilesville for more than 21 years. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Mooresville, and was a member of the Eastern Star in Cloverdale for more than 60 years.
She enjoyed gardening, shopping, and cooking.
Survivors include sons Robert Stroud of Indianapolis and Larry Stroud and wife Janet of Stilesville; grandchildren Tim Stroud of Indianapolis and Cherie Yarolem and husband Rusty of Stilesville; eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, a niece, and a nephew.
Preceding her in death was a grandson, Mark Stroud, two brothers and two sisters.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bousley-Hays Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Stilesville Cemetery.
