Austin Money died Thursday at his Crawfordsville home. He was 87.
Born Dec. 2, 1926, in Crawfordsville, he was a son of the late Austin Luther Money Sr. and Erma Courtney Money. He married Margaret Utterback on Dec. 2, 1944, and she preceded him in death.
Mr. Money was superintendent of Oak Hill Cemetery from 1956 to ‘95. He and his wife lived in the house adjacent to the office and took care of the cemetery.
He attended New Hope Christian Church and was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and hunting. He was active with Boy Scouts.
Survivors include daughters Marilyn (Bob) Allen of Veedersburg and Linda (Ron) Fox of Crawfordsville; grandchildren Angela Stark, Brian Allen, Randy Allen, Melissa Howard, Ronald Fox Jr., Rebecca Pittman, Darrell Money Jr., and David Money; a sister, Betty McKinney; brothers Donald (Nancy) Money and Charles (Nancy) Money.
Preceding him in death were a son, Darrell Wayne Money, and a sister, Cheryl Lynn Money.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Burkhart Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Whitacre officiating. Interment will be at ak Hill Cemetery North.
