Noble Lee Bowen of Plainfield

Noble Lee Bowen of Plainfield died Thursday. He was 79 and had formerly resided in Stilesville.

Born June 5, 1930, in Fillmore, he was a son of the late Dennis and Leota (Zeiner) Bowen. He married Ruth Anne Marley on Sept. 15, 1950, and she survives.

Mr. Bowen graduated from Fillore High School in 1948 and then served one year in the U.S. Navy. He worked delivering milk, running a gas station, and had a long career as a process engineer at the former Westinghouse Air Brake Co.

He enjoyed camping, boating, woodworking, and gardening.

Additional survivors include sons Rick of Chicago, Ill., and Randy of St. Louis, Mo.; daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Don Hutton of Greenwood, Pam and Richard Blackard of Cartersburg, and Sandy and Rob Lehnen of Zionsville; nine granddaughters, two grandsons, three stepgrandsons, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a brother, Robert, and a grandson, Andy, both of whom died earlier this year.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Plainfield United Methodist Church, 600 Simmons St. Interment will be at Coatesville Cemetery.

Calling at the church is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield is handling arrangements.
