James F. Compton died Saturday at his Orleans home after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 63.

Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Community Church on Vincennes Road, west of Orleans, with David Conley officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Orleans.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home and for an hour prior to the service at the church.
