Billy Mell Ginn

Billy Mell Ginn died Friday at his Danville home. He was 80.

Born July 27, 1929, in Bowersville, Ga., he was a son of the late Jim and Fannie Bowen Ginn. He married Elizabeth Gipson Pritchett on Jan. 15, 1966, in Indianapolis, and she survives.

Mr. Ginn was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion in Indianapolis. He worked 40 years as a sheet metal worker with Local No. 20.

Additional survivors include a daughter-in-law, Geraldine Pritchett; a stepdaughter, Diana Boggs and husband Gene; grandchildren Shannon Lee Pritchett and Kimberly Ann Pritchett; great-grandchildren Alexander Lee Williams and Mikayla Elizabeth Kelly; sisters Margaret Cordell, Gloria Alewine and husband David; and a sister-in-law, Alonia Ginn.

Preceding him in death was a son, Cecil Lee Pritchett; brothers James H. Ginn and Loyd A. Ginn; sisters Imojean Campbell, Mattie Pearl Thompson, Thelma Ruth Thompson, and Ruby Nell Ginn.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Baker Funeral Home in Danville. Interment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Calling at the funeral home is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.
