Jean E. Reed of Plainfield

Jean E. Reed of Plainfield died Friday at the age of 59.

Born March 19, 1950, in Gary, she was the daughter of Robert and Phyllis Miller. She married Carl R. Reed in 1974. He survives.

Mrs. Reed taught the third grade for 17 years at St. Susanna Catholic Church. She was a 1972 DePauw University graduate. Her memberships included Hope United Presbyterian Church.

Also surviving are her parents; a daughter, Jennifer C. (Brian) Henson; a son, Scott R. Reed; two sisters, Gail (Steve) Garrison and Carol (Dennis) Smith; a granddaughter, Kendall Jean Henson; and nieces and nephews Brian (Christi) Garrison and Jill and Laura Garrison.

A memorial service is scheduled 11 a.m. Aug. 4 at Hope United Presbyterian Church in Plainfield with the Rev. Shirley Jones officiating. Calling is 4-7 p.m. Aug. 3 in St. Susanna Catholic Church, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Hall-Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
