Catherine Coleman of Pittsboro

Catherine Coleman of Pittsboro died June 30. She was 98.
Born April 30, 1911, in Scott County, she was a daughter of Verne and Ethel Wolfe. She moved to Hendricks County and graduated from New Winchester High School in 1929.
Mrs. Coleman worked at the Indianapolis Glove Factory and Mowry’s during World War II. She attended Indiana Business College and worked several years for State Auto Insurance Company. She was also a homemaker.
She enjoyed gardening, oil painting, and stained glass. She was a member of Pittsboro United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Susan R. and Kenny Jones of Danville; a daughter-in-law, Patty Coleman of Vero Beach, Fla.; grandsons Bryan Coleman and wife Vickie of Lizton, Bradley Coleman and wife Gayle of Charlotte, N.C., Bernie Coleman of Pittsboro; Jeff Jones and wife Brenda of Pittsboro, Jon Jones and wife Sallie of Brownsburg, and Eric Jones and wife Krista of Danville; stepgrandsons Jeff McIntyre and wife Mary of Denver, Colo., and Chuck McIntyre and wife Sandy of Jasper; a sister, Laurabel Pruitt of Avon; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Mary Wolfe of Lebanon; and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert W. Coleman; a son, Kenneth A. Coleman; and brothers Ledner and Robert Wolfe.
Services are 11 a.m. July 3 at David A. Hall Mortuary, 220 N. Maple St., Pittsboro. Interment will be at the K of P Cemetery in Lizton.
Calling at the mortuary is for two hours prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the Scamahorn Town Park in Pittsboro, Hendricks County Meals on Wheels, or the Pittsboro United Methodist Church Youth Scholarship Fund.
